Job Summary and Description
Teaching faculty are professional educators who have the primary responsibility of fulfilling the District mission of providing a quality education for all students attending the colleges. Categories include full-time, temporary with benefits, and temporary without benefits. Faculty members are responsible to a department/program chairperson; The relationship of the faculty member to the student is one of leader, teacher, advisor, and facilitator of learning. Faculty members will uphold the mission and values of the colleges' and foster effective working relationships with students and colleagues.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Associate'sdegree in any discipline & 3 years of experience in the real timetranscriptionists, stenography, Scopists, or court reporting work fields.
- ATexas Judicial Branch Certification as a Certified Shorthand Reporter (CSR), or a National Court Reporter Association Registered Skilled Reporter (RPR), or a Computer-Aided Transcription Technology Level I or II certificate, or
bea National Court Reporter Association Certified Court Reporter Instructor.
PreferredEducation and Experience:
- Proficiencyin Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART), computer-aidedtranscription, real-time writing, and litigation support.
- Knowledgein StenEd Theory.
- Experience/abilityto incorporate technology into the classroom.
- Experience/abilityto teach at the community college level.
- Experiencewith or willingness to teach hybrid, online asynchronous, remote synchronous,or Hy-flex (i.e. face-to-face, online asynchronous, and remote synchronoussimultaneously).
- Experiencewith or willingness to teach course at night and/or weekends.
- Abilityto teach any speed range in the Court Reporting program (60 to 240 WMP).
- Abilityto prepare classroom materials for use in dictation, speed goals tests, andCourt Reporting and captioning and academic courses.
