**Position Summary**
RSI is recruiting for an Environmental Scientist, Senior who is responsible for supporting Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) compliance at the Department of Energy Office of Legacy Management (DOE LM) sites. This includes implementation of Five-Year Reviews (FYR), along with development of post-decision documentation as needed, including but not limited to Record of Decision (ROD) amendments and Explanation of Significant Differences (ESD).

**Hiring Range:** $ 95,000 - $120,000 per year .(The anticipated starting salary is based on the posted minimum requirements for this position. The offered salary will be based upon the selected applicants education, training, and experience.)
This position is required to travel 10% of the time.
**Essential** **Duties and Responsibilities**
Development and overseeing CERCLA FYR and post-decision documentation project work scope, schedule, and budget.
Identification and securing of required resources.
Working with internal and external subject matter experts to ensure that technical and regulatory issues are successfully addressed and resolved.
Interfacing with both Federal (EPA) and State regulators.
Reporting project performance.
Writing CERCLA FYR and post-decision reports.
Writing CERCLA FYR report addendums.
Briefing LM and RSI management and local Stakeholders.
Planning and overseeing special projects.
Reviewing technical reports.
Participating in routine meetings with stakeholders including federal, and state regulators.
Reviewing and analyzing proposed environmental rules that impact LM activities.
Other duties as assigned.
**Required Education and Years of Relevant Experience**
+ Bachelors degree in environmental science, engineering, or related STEM field. Experience in lieu of education may be considered.
+ 15 years of relevant experience
**Licenses and Certifications**
+ Valid Drivers License
**Required Skills and Abilities**
+ Experience developing and writing CERCLA FYRs and other post-decision documentation.
+ Understanding of CERCLA implementation, including Section 107 liability.
+ A working knowledge of the objectives of human health and ecological risk assessments and how they are applied in demonstrating that the CERCLA Sites are protective of human health and the environment.
+ Experience with emergent contaminants, specifically PFAS, and their impact to the protectiveness statement of the CERCLA FYR.
+ Exceptional organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
+ Responsible, proactive, and self-motivated.
+ Safety conscious, careful, and thorough.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Knowledge of Environmental Cleanup and Environmental Law.

**Essential Physical Requirements**
Medium: Work involves moving objects by exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, or an above-negligible amount and up to 10 pounds constantly. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for light work.
