Job Summary:
We are looking for an entry-level position supporting Epsten Group's Performance Testing group within the Sustainability department to join our energetic and growing company based out of Atlanta, Georgia. The Performance Testing Technician will assist Performance Testing Agents in the assessment of and collection of data for projects throughout the U.S. and Canada, including compiling documentation and analyzing data to help demonstrate that a project meets the requirements of the applicable building rating system, such as WELL or LEED. The position can be remote but must be located near a major airport. For team building purposes, relocation to the Atlanta office would be encouraged and is assisted through stipends.
In this role, you will:
- Assist Testing lead personnel in performing jobsite testing and observations.
- Write field reports, take photographs, collect data, and complete spreadsheet analysis for jobsite observations to be reviewed and distributed by the Testing lead personnel.
- Create pre-functional checklists for the Testing team and develop resources to enhance performance test procedures.
- Provide technical support to internal Consultants who communicate information to project teams for performance testing-related issues.
- Assist Testing lead personnel in performing equipment and systems conditions assessments, including equipment calibration schedules and documentation.
- Prepare basic calculations.
- Perform functional testing and verification of systems in the field in direct support of the Testing lead personnel.

- Technical Degree in building science or building industry-related field required
- Bachelors degree in Architecture, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or Similar (Masters degree a plus) preferred
- Understanding and ability to communicate with internal team members, as well as with external clients.
- Willingness to learn and contribute.
Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read, understand and interpret building floor plans, sections, site plans, construction specifications, mechanical schedules, commissioning reports, product submittals, and operational policies
- Detailed technical understanding of and experience with two or more of the following building operations topics: design and construction process, common construction methods, materials specification, fenestration, HVAC systems, plumbing systems, electrical systems, landscape design, master planning, land use, zoning, urban development, life cycle assessment, carbon accounting, social equity programming, basis of design development, owner's project requirement development
- Experience or passion for learning about EPDs and LCAs a plus
- Experience with ISO accreditations a plus
- Passion and commitment to the EGI mission and culture
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including technical writing
- Ability to clearly explain advanced technical issues in manner that is easily understood
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong people-management skills for small teams
- Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability for delivering high quality work
- Ability to work well both independently and in groups
