The Middle School English Teacher will specialize in making English vibrant, fun, and relevant for our sixth through eighth grade students. Candidates will be skilled in teaching language arts curriculum to students across all levels of ability and interest through an inquiry-rich, project-based approach. Curriculum includes literature, grammar, vocabulary, and writing. In addition, this teacher may teach one elective course and may serve as a grade level advisor. A successful candidate will have experience helping students transition to middle school. Experience with high school placement is a plus.

The Middle School English Teacher should be dependable, responsible, sensitive, mature, and able to relate to children as well as adults. This is a full-time position that is eligible for benefits as outlined in the School Employee Handbook.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- Master's degree preferred
- Degree(s) in education, English, or related fields are a plus
- Previous experience working with 6th-8th grade students (at least 3 years)
- Comprehensive knowledge of language arts content/curriculum
- Ability to follow instructions individually and work well with a team
- Prepared to attend and participate in independent school activities such as (but not limited to) Back-to-School Night, conferences, student advisory, retreats, club sponsorship, and open houses
- Must complete New Employee Training which includes but is not limited to First Aid/CPR, Live Scan background check, and required Praesidium modules
