Job Description

As a member of the electrical engineering team in Fort Washington, responsibilities will include research, design, documentation and testing of electromechanical subsystems and robotic automation manufacturing equipment for the semiconductor industry. The selected candidate will be involved in the following areas:

  • High speed, precision motion systems controllers for semiconductor fabrication equipment for a market leader in the field
  • Critical process enabling technology to support customer requirements for semiconductor packaging (wire bonding)
  • Being trained on KNS controls technologies (DSP, microcontroller, and FPGA)

Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities:

  • Initial focus will be training on and converting current DSP control code base and architecture from Analog Devices SHARC DSP Assembly and C to Model-Based Design in Simulink
    • Desire to learn DSP assembly language and apply controls knowledge to modernize
  • Conduct cross-functional collaboration with mechanical, software, and process engineering
  • Support initial start-up of prototype motion systems
  • Conduct prototype testing, data collection, processing, analysis and documentation
  • Provide technical support to our field engineers and customers

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Degree in electrical, computer, mechanical, or similar engineering
  • 2+ years of hands-on engineering development experience with electromechanical systems
  • Programming experience in an embedded systems (microcontrollers/DSP) environment
    • Assembly, C, C++
    • Familiarity with requirements for real-time coding
  • MATLAB/Simulink experience
  • Work in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and efficient organization

Helpful Skills and Experience:

  • Basic closed-loop controls for digital systems
  • FPGA programming experience, Verilog
  • Model-based design experience with MATLAB/Simulink
  • Revision control, Git
