Summary:

Aquatech is a global leader in water purification systems technology for both industrial and infrastructure markets located in the United States and internationally. We support our clients with sustainable water purification systems and technologies that are solving the worlds water scarcity challenges.

Currently, Aquatech has an immediate need for a fulltime, Chemical Engineer to work in our Hartland, WI office. The hours are Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. The Chemical Engineer will perform the duties described in the job description below and will be considered an Exempt employee.

The ideal candidate will review and preapre RFPs for water treatment and wastewater recycle treatment systems.

Applications:

  • Collaborate with sales team to develop markets and project opportunities
  • Interface with clients to gain a comprehensive understanding of their needs
  • Develop quantifiable customer value proposition for each project
  • Review client project specifications and clarify level of compliance
  • Review and preapre Request for Proposals (RFPs) for water treatment and wastewater recycle treatment systems.
  • Prepare appropriate responses to RFPs, incl developing process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams and GA drawings.
  • Perform heat and material balance, hydraulic and relief protection calculations and equipment selection
  • Costing preparation for the water treatment industry
  • Prepare material cost estimates for thermal evaporation systems
  • Manage proposal preparation
  • Initiate technical data sheets for proposals and turnover packages
  • Develop design in collaboration with the other engineering departments
  • Develop cost estimate and budget for the proposed system.
  • Obtain negotiated price quotations from vendors and handling related communications until a project is awarded
  • Provide support in technical clarification meetings with clients and addressing related proposal, budget, and estimation inquiries
  • Prepare turnover packages to the project team when the job is awarded to Aquatech, including related budget costs
  • Resolve budget conflicts on awarded jobs
  • Provide technical data to process engineers as requested
  • Collect information from vendors regarding technologies and /or new thermal equipment
  • Participate in design improvements including pilot testing and laboratory testing
  • Complete post-contract engineering activities as needed
  • Customer/vendor service skills

Waste Water:

  • Design and integration of hybrid industrial water treatment systems comprised of evaporation and

crystallization technology with other unit operations including:

  • membranes (UF, NF, RO)
  • filtration (MMF, DMF)
  • ion exchange (SAC/WAC), etc
  • Apply recycle/reuse strategies to industrial concentration and ZLD markets
  • Performance optimization of chemical consumption and utilities

Skill Requirements:

  • Experience preparing proposals/bids against RFPs for supplying Water Treatment and/or Wastewater Recycle Treatment systems required.
  • Knowledge of water chemistry; water treatment equipment process design/sizing calculations; proposal/bid preparation; metallic and non-metallic construction materials utilized in water treatment processes; industry standard software for membrane and ion exchange resin based equipment design; and water treatment and wastewater recycle treatment system processes (including: physical/chemical conditioning processes, clarification process, ultrafiltration (UF), ion-exchange processes, and reverse osmosis (RO)).
  • Review and prepare RFPs for water treatment and wastewater recycle treatment systems using knowledge of water chemistry and water treatment process and equipment.
