Job Description:
L3Harris has an immediate opening for a versatile Scientist, System/Hardware engineer to support the design and manufacturing of Tracking, Telemetry, and Command products for space-based applications and Intel products. As a system/hardware engineer within the Chief Engineering organization, you will be supporting various engineering teams in the design, integration, and test of advanced satellite & intel communication links including TT&C and Payload products with digital telemetry, and signal processing technology. As part of our team, you will be responsible for leading product execution and planning functions, Internal Research, & Design (IR&D) development, and integration and test of Satellite and Intel systems. This role requires the application of the principles and techniques of Electrical Engineering, with detailed simulation and mathematical analysis. You will work with engineering teams to analyze product issues (leading troubleshooting efforts), determine feasibility of designs within time and cost constraints. Work with the team to develop and direct hardware and digital system testing procedures, RCCA and customer ready documentation. Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of engineering applications and products. Interface with customers, suppliers, and other technical and support personnel. Coordinating and leading engineering team in support for proposals, including technical solution, estimates, and schedules.
Essential Functions:
Lead all division program level execution issues and resolutions (from PM highlights)
Lead product ownership assignments and coordinate SME support
Design disciple stakeholder leading adherence, and adoption of Engineering Design and DVT process across all engineering disciples
Lead NRE designs including analog, RF/microwave product hardware development
Drive Lessons learned, capture & documentation in central location
Lead all division program level RCCA
Lead engineering E3 and productivity initiatives
Drive mentorship and training within the engineering organization
Maintain cognizance of industry tools, best practices, and procedures.
Drive interface with internal and external customers
Communicate with leadership on status, issues, milestones, and successes
coaching and mentorship of Junior technical talent across the MAG
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience.
Degree in Electrical Engineering or prior relevant Hardware design experience.
Experience with radio architecture & design experience for supporting customer deliverable products
Experience with digital modulation, demodulation, FEC, interface and modem level design
Experience in Microsoft Suite applications and RF/system simulation tools
Preferred Additional Skills:
Excellent ability to analyze problems and to focus and drive down to the root cause of problems quickly.
Design and system level experience for Satellite and Intel application.
Ability to obtain Secret Clearance
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $147,000 - $273,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
