Job Summary:
The position involves preparing and managing permits related to mining operations, including air, wastewater, and stormwater permits. The role requires developing strong relationships with plant staff to ensure environmental compliance, managing emergency situations such as spills, and maintaining records on emissions, discharges, and waste management. The candidate will lead environmental programs, certifications, and on-site contractors while also participating in employee training on environmental requirements. Additionally, the role involves supporting community involvement initiatives through environmental education programs.
Job Requirements:
Prepare and manage various environmental permits, including Title V Air Permit, NPDES, and Stormwater Permits.
Respond to emergency situations, coordinating services for spills and discharges.
Lead and manage environmental programs, certifications, and on-site contractors.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 6 years with a master’s degree, or a PhD without experience.
In-depth knowledge of plant processes, waste streams, and applicable environmental regulations (Title V, RCRA, SPCC, SWPPP).
Experience with ISO 14001 certifications and strong communication skills.
