West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech), part of the WVU system of campuses located in Beckley, WV, is currently inviting applications for the position of Program Assistant II.

About the Opportunity

As the Program Assistant II, you will perform a wide variety of support duties for the School of Business, which includes the Department of Accounting and Management and the Department of Sport and Recreation Management.

What you'll do:

  • Perform support duties for departments, such as typing, copying, scheduling, filing, departmental level personnel files, etc.
  • Provide information and communications assistance to faculty, students, vendors, parents, etc.
  • Provide a supportive and friendly interface with applicants and students.
  • Provide basic advising assistance to students in preparation for departmental level advising.
  • Maintain and update student files and folders.
  • Maintain and update records for the Early Enrollment program as required.
  • Complete all department purchasing functions.
  • Process all P-card transactions.
  • Complete all travel requests and settlements.
  • Maintain detailed budget records in Microsoft Excel.
  • Complete and process requisitions in Mountaineer Marketplace.
  • View GL information in MAP.
  • Maintain supplies for applicable computer labs.
  • Collect data for departmental personnel and department reports.
  • Complete trouble tickets for computer lab problems and forward to ITS.
  • Process contracts and requisitions for Early Enrollment.
  • Supervise work study students and/or community service students.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Hours: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Pay Grade: 13

Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in office administration, business or other technical area OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Up to 18 months of education beyond high school in office administration or other business or technical area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One (1) year of experience providing administrative support to a department or business which includes maintaining and tracking various budgets.
  • Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a higher education institution is preferred.
