Job Description:
L3Harris Technologies is looking for a self-starting, team-oriented Senior Software Engineer to join our Maritime programs. This position will lead the charge in integrating Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) control capabilities into our Maritime platforms. The successful candidate will apply industry best practices and relevant experience to ensure excellent execution and performance across all phases of the software lifecycle, including refining requirements, software implementation, integration, debugging, and full documentation.
Essential Functions:
Work with the development team using agile methodologies combined with mature software practices and a technology-supported development infrastructure.
Develop new software and adapt existing software by implementing new capabilities.
Complete all development work to “Definition of Done” acceptance criteria.
Maintain cognizance of industry tools, best practices, and procedures.
Work with team lead to help decompose the work needed to implement new features or address defects within the operational software.
Help drive new software capabilities to closure in a diverse ecosystem of both development and operational environments.
Drive software execution excellence on high-priority programs.
Communicate with leadership on status, issues, milestones, and successes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant software experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related software experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of prior related software experience.
Active Top Secret security clearance.
6+ years’ experience in C, C++, and Python.
4+ years of experience with UUV Control Algorithms.
2+ years of experience with Linux.
2+ years of experience with DevSecOps.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Active TS/SCI security clearance.
Experience with Open Architectures.
Experience with Open AUV / PCX Architecture.
Experience with bridging UUV Autonomy with Mission Payload Packages.
DevOps CI/CD pipeline experience.
Experience with a variety of scripting and software languages (e.g., Ruby, Perl, Ajax) on RTOS.
RTOS (Real-Time Operating System) experience with VxWorks or GreenHills.
OOA/OOD/UML experience.
Linux kernel or Zynq experience.
Experience with the Qt framework.
