POSITION SUMMARY
Native Microbials is hiring a part-time assistant to support operations in San Diego. As a Laboratory Operations Assistant, you will gain valuable hands-on experience while providing critical support to the scientists who develop and test live microbial products. The Laboratory Assistant performs routine laboratory and general clerical tasks necessary for the daily operation of the laboratory. Collects prepares, cleans, and stores glassware and other lab equipment. Stocks and prepares media, reagents, chemical solutions, and stains. Maintains records and files.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adhere to Ascus laboratory safety guidelines at all times
- Clean and restock glassware
- Prepare media and reagents
- Restock laboratory consumables
- Assist with experiments and take on independent projects as skills and training allow

•Works with Research Associates, Scientists, and Interns

Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
- Basic college-level lecture and laboratory coursework in general biology, microbiology, and chemistry
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel)
- Ability to perform basic calculations required for media preparation.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position requires applicants to work in an environment that is a laboratory climate-controlled office.
