Position Overview: Virginia Tech (VT) is recruiting to fill a tenure track faculty position at the assistant professor level in cancer research. This faculty position is part of a major research initiative located at the Children’s National Research and Innovation Campus in Washington, DC. The faculty member will be part of the Cancer Research Center – DC within Virginia Tech’s Fralin Biomedical Research Institute (FBRI).
Responsibilities:
Maintain a high-quality, extramurally-funded research program.
Participate in teaching graduate students.
Serve as a research mentor for VT graduate, medical, and undergraduate students.
Qualifications:
Applicants should have an earned doctorate (PhD, MD and/or DVM), postdoctoral research experience, a record of accomplishment of research productivity through high-quality publications, and some record of past or preferably current extramural funding. Applicants with laboratory bench-based research and/or bioinformatics approaches will be considered.
Salary Information: Commensurate with experience.
