The CEO of Heidelberg Materials North America, who is also a member of the global Managing Board for Heidelberg Materials, is seeking a Board Assistant to provide senior level analysis and executive level support for business cycle processes and strategic initiatives. The role based at Heidelberg Materials Headquarters in Irving, Texas, offers a unique opportunity to work with senior leaders in North America.
In this role you can build a strong foundation, by working closely with a Managing Board member to understand how the business works from their perspective. The ideal candidate for this role will have a high level of professionalism and will be comfortable interfacing with senior executives in a fast-paced, high intensity environment.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Fast and straightforward resolution of all operative tasks in the day-to-day business, including:
- Support of the Managing Board member in conceptual and strategic topics
- Work closely with all NAM ExCom members to prepare, analyze and communicate key projects and decisions
- Support with quality research, analysis and preparation of data and information (incl. presentations) for a wide range of business topics including acquisitions, divestures, joint ventures, policies, programs, and organizational changes.
- Manage projects for business improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with HM Group function and Assistants to other Members of the Managing Board on group-wide topics and initiatives
Coordination of cooperation between local management and functions:
- Communication interface between the Area Managing Board and other Managing Board offices, Group/Area Directors, and NAM Executive Committee members
- Close cooperation with departments reporting to the Managing Board member
Required Skills
- Minimum of a bachelors degree in business or engineering; MBA preferred.
- Several years of experience in a management consultancy or auditing company, or relevant experience within a global industrial corporation.
- Dynamic, analytical, precise, and results oriented.
- Project management experience with strong process methodology.
- Fast learner and good understanding of finance and digital technologies.
- Organizational influence and the know how to establish an extensive internal network of relationships.
- Travel required +/- 25% of the time. Mainly in the USA and Canada.
