In this role, you will be a part of the Aviation, Transit and Commercial Buildings team, of the Buildings Sector , based in Chicago, IL or Dallas, TX .
A Project Architect represents the Firm’s interests through effective project leadership and actions that advance the Firm’s mission and business interests. The Project Architect speaks for the Firm and conducts him/herself in a manner commensurate with a position of leadership and mentoring within the Firm. Your responsibilities include:
What a day at EXP has in store for you
Lead and coordinate the technical development of projects working under Project Managers and Principals from Conceptual Design through Construction Documents and Construction Phase.
Ability to coordinate with a multi-discipline team of architects and engineers, both in-house staff and outside subconsultants, ensuring the project is detailed and executed to maintain the design concept with technical astuteness and within the project budget.
Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Develop presentation documents and participate in presentations to clients.
Develop design concepts under the leadership of the Principal Designer.
Participate in design phase activities by providing expertise in detail development.
Develop construction drawings and specifications for all project phases.
Ensure that designs meet applicable building code requirements.
Assist with all corresponding bid and construction phase activities in the office and in the field.
What your experience looks like
Bachelor or Masters Degree in Architecture required from an accredited University.
Architectural license required.
LEED AP a plus.
Detailed knowledge of architectural and engineering practice with emphasis on design, design development, preparation of construction documents, preparation of specifications, building materials, construction costs, and building codes.
Must be proficient with AutoCAD & Revit.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
