Your Role and Responsibilities
As an Architect in IBM Consulting, you'll serve as a leader in defining solutions for clients. You'll be the advocate for the client while guiding the technical team to implementation.
You'll collaborate with client stakeholders and internal partners to understand the business problem and requirements, constraints of the system and concerns of the various stakeholders to systematically transform detailed solutions (architectures) for the client.

This is a managed service provider (MSP) for Army IT systems and we support enterprise applications owners in migrating their systems into Amazon AWS and also provide sustainment services to support their applications. This position is for an architect to support these applications from a migration and sustainment role. Collaborate with customers to understand their application environments, evaluate any architectural changes they may need, and develop an architecture that meets the application requirements and utilizes a cloud native approach as much as possible.

Your primary responsibilities include:
Prepare and submit build and process documentation internally and with external providers to facilitate application deployment and upgrades.
Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of customer application issues to include network, storage, operating system, and application-level analysis.
Amazon AWS Portal administration in support of the Army cloud customers user account management, add/modify/delete AWS resources, configuration of alerting and notifications, and general oversight of the AWS enrollment.
Develop, deploy, and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) for deployment and sustainment of customer enclaves.
Provide on-call support for triage and resolution of after-hours production incidents.
Make recommendations for improvements to security, scalability, manageability, and performance across a wide variety of network, storage, and compute services and technologies.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Clearance: *** This position requires a Secret Security clearance or higher (US Citizenship is required) ***

Required Skills:
Knowledge of Amazon AWS cloud resources with mid-level Cloud Engineer experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience effectively managing multiple large-scale projects
Understanding of network, storage, server, and application technologies
Strong troubleshooting skills across the entire technology stack network, storage, server, and applications
Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (Ansible, Terraform, Python, Powershell, Bash, Puppet, Chef, etc.)
Working knowledge of DoD STIGs, and IA Vulnerability Management (IAVM) preferred.

Required Certifications:
AWS certification
Security+ (Or equivalent IA cert) and computing environment certification (i.e. Amazon Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, etc. strongly preferred)
Computing environment certification

Preferred Cloud Certification
AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
3-5 years of experience in cloud security engineering, with a focus on RHEL and SAP environments.
Expertise in building and maintaining RHEL images, specifically for SAP applications.
3+ years of experience with developing cloud system requirements (AWS and Azure) and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (GitLab, Jenkins).
In-depth understanding of security practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and network security (NIST and CIS Security frameworks).
Experience with STIGs and their application in securing systems.
Experience in using Nessus for vulnerability scanning and remediation.

The ITES-3 education/experience requirements:
Intermediate level LCAT Bachelors +5 or Associates +7
Senior level LCAT Masters +10 or Bachelors +12
