Job Description The Population Health Data Analyst I works in conjunction with the Analytics team to analyze claims, Electronic Medical Record, Health Information Exchange, and other data sources to identify opportunities for clinical improvement activities. This individual takes direction from the leadership of the Quality and Community Partnerships and Post Acute Care Services to effectively communicate these opportunities to the leadership and participating providers of the Quality and Community Partnerships and Post Acute Care Services at UM Rehab & Ortho.
Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

Works and assists the Analytics team by developing reports form the analytics platform to improve Quality and Community Partnerships and Post-Acute Care Services performance in value-based contracts. This requires basic analytical and statistical skills and an aptitude for learning.
Assists with the creation of recommendations for specific actions or work based on analysis and research.
Tracks the results of implemented recommendations for progress and impact.
Works with industry standard data query and analysis tools to drive business decisions.
Operates in a directed work environment to accomplish goals and initiatives.
Performs various ad-hoc analysis to drive business decisions across all functional business groups
Analyze, manipulate, and extract data from a variety of relational databases that contain claims, administrative, and clinical data.
Assists with the creation of population health business/technical requirements, as well as other pertinent project documentation.
Qualifications Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required. Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field is preferred.
One (1) years of data analysis or equivalent experience is required (Graduate/advanced degrees and/or certification will be considered in lieu of years of experience).
Previous healthcare experience is preferred. Previous experience in population health is ideal but not mandatory
Experience with analysis of claims data is ideal but not mandatory.
