NACE/AMPP Level II or Level III Certified Coatings Inspector

This individual will be onsite at a major refining facility in Garyville, LA. This position will report to our Baton Rouge, LA Office. This is a temporary 4-6 month assignment. This role will average 50 hours per week at a minimum (10-12 hour shifts.)The ideal candidate will be a high-performing, critical thinking, analytical, and experienced self-starter with excellent leadership skills, written and oral communication skills, customer service skills, and the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.Orbital culture values safety, communication, accountability, professionalism, integrity, and respect.Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Responsible for managing tank coating assessments and repair projects for assigned tanks to ensure integrity of both external coatings and internal coatings/linings/liners.Experience with Abrasive Blasting/Coatings Application/Industrial CoatingsKnowledge and experience with Internal Linings and CUI CoatingsQuality Control/Quality Assurance - Professional Documentation, Inspection, Equipment Utilization, Daily Inspection ReportsCoordinate and track fieldwork with client contacts and report writing.Track projects to ensure schedules are maintained.Perform all manner of QA/QC field tasks related to coatings/liners/linings of storage tanks.Ensure procedures and processes are current and being followed.Work at elevated and confined space-type areas.Good communication and Computer Skills (Microsoft Office Beginner to Intermediate Level)Must be clear and concise with strong attention to detail, organized)Minimum RequirementsNACE/AMPP Level II or Level III Certified Coatings Inspector Certification is required.Minimum of 12 years of field experience as a coating inspectorMinimum of 12 years of field experience as a coating inspector with internal tank coatings/liners/liningsHigh degree of reading comprehension.Significant technical background.TWIC CardOSHA Basic Plus CardMust reside within a reasonable commuting distance to the Garyville, LA facility.Demonstrated ability to effectively organize multiple assignments, complex assignments, and competing priorities to produce quality reports and results.Computer proficiency including general office products, design, and business enterprise software.Reasoning skills and ability to solve practical problems.Ability to read and understand fabrication and engineering drawings.Must have dependable transportation and a valid driver's license and insurance.Must be able to pass a fit for duty test.High School Diploma requiredLocal Candidates are encouraged to applyThis role will require a successful DISA drug and background screening.Orbital Engineering, Inc. has provided worldwide professional engineering and consulting services since 1969.
