Responsibilities:

NOTE: This is a temporary position. Documentation Control Specialist serves as the primary authority, support, and communication hub between stakeholder departments on Change Management (CM) and Product Documentation / Configuration Control.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

General:

  • Follow company policies and processes
  • Initiate and support continuous improvement activities for the Manufacturing Engineering processes
  • Create metrics and reports for Manufacturing Engineering processes
  • Train new employees on CM and Document Control processes
  • Guide process users and answer questions
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external standards where applicable
  • Adhere to and promote configuration control principles
  • Provide expedited support for all responsibilities

Change Management of product configuration and product documentation:

  • Manage Engineering Change (EC) process, database, and its metrics for product documentation (such as CAD files, source control drawings, work instructions, SW keys etc.)
  • Manage Change Control Boards (CCB) activities for product documentation changes (such as ensuring EC approvals, chairing CCB meetings)
  • Ensure product configuration, Bill of Material (BOM) integrity
  • Ensure accurate entry of part master (material master) and BOM structure data for product releases and revisions into databases
  • Coordinate change implementation activities with stakeholder and action owner departments
  • Ensure product documents integrity
  • Maintain product configuration structure in configurator tool as defined by ECs
  • Enter new part numbers, BOMs, and Routings into SAP, edit existing records in SAP
  • Extend material to other plants and sales organizations as required

Change Management of Quality Management System (QMS) documentation:

  • Manage Engineering Change (EC) process, database, and its metrics for QMS documents (such as company policies, procedures, forms, etc.)
  • Manage Change Control Boards (CCB) activities for QMS document changes (such as ensuring EC approvals, chairing CCB meetings)
  • Coordinate change implementation activities with stakeholder and action owner departments
  • Ensure compliance with companys QMS requirements and ISO9001 requirements

Additional responsibilities:

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Fluent in Microsoft Office Tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Outlook).
  • Experience in:
    • managing Configuration Control and Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes.
    • chairing CCB meetings
    • SAP: Change Mgmt, Material Master, BOM, Routings, Documents, Variant Configurator
    • creating and updating work instructions
    • training others (on the job training)
    • creating and managing BOMs
    • documenting processes, creating flowcharts
  • Self-starter and requires minimum supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team player
  • Excellent in following written and verbal work instructions
  • Expert in product configuration control fundamentals and Product Lifecycle Management
  • Expert level knowledge of BOM structures
  • Ability to travel up to three weeks per year (domestic and international)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CAD data management (PDM) (such as SolidWorks Enterprise PDM)
  • Experience with Autodesk Fusion 360 Manage (Fusion Lifecycle)
  • Experience with PLM (Product Life Cycle Management) Tools
  • Experience with Innowera software
  • Knowledge of relational databases
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Six sigma, Lean Six Sigma
  • Experience with process improvements Experience in creating statement of work (SOW) and requirements for outsourcing Configuration Control activities
  • Experience in overseeing and leading other configuration control specialists

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work in standard office environment and production environment
  • If working remotely, quiet, professional, and dedicated home office environment suitable for meetings and free from interruptions.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

AA/AS degree or equivalent required with a minimum of 3 years related experience or training or

Min 5 years of experience in document control or configuration control

At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $88,000 and $103,000 and provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.The base salary for the role will depend on a several job-related factors, including, but not limited to education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge and travel requirements for this position. Full-time employees may also be eligible for a performance-related incentive in addition to a full range of benefits including 401(k) with company match, an employee stock purchase plan, medical and dental plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program and paid time off including vacation, sick time and holidays, and more.
