Milling - Day Shift
Controls equipment systems that process chemical substances into specified products. Monitors the production process and ensure efficiency of systems and equipment. Helps handle and manage chemical raw materials; load raw materials into processing equipment; monitor the equipment performance including temperature and pressure; and discharge and package finished product at the end of the cycle.
Essential Skills:
- Operates batch processing equipment which includes blenders, storage tanks, pumps, bulk loading and packaging systems, forklifts, etc.
- Processes batches according to product manufacturing procedures and equipment standard operating procedures (SOP)
- Enters Batch Data into Company software for products and raw materials ? Documents batch data on batch sheets, and material records
- Verify raw material availability and inform Production planner of any discrepancies
- Blend scheduled products according to the process order specifications and customer requirements
- Carry out all packaging requirements as per schedule and customers’ needs
- Prepare and inspect semi-bulk tanks prior to filling
- Load and unload all bulk trucks and trailers with inbound and outbound shipments
- Provide problem solving input for production issues
- Sample product Quality Control Lab approval
- Arrange for bulk loading and unloading times
- Label all packaged goods with the correct labels
- Write near miss incidents
- Stage raw materials and transfer chemicals into vessels, trucks, totes, drums, etc.
- Inform Foreman of equipment repairs needed and write maintenance request forms
- Maintain good housekeeping ? Assist with inventory counting
- Abides by all safety procedures and practices applicable to location and position; participates in appropriate safety training; demonstrates commitment to and support of EH&S principles and values; champions safety as necessary
- Performs other duties assigned by management that fall within the generally expected scope of this position
Previous Experience:
- Prior experience in a Production/Chemical Manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with chemical movement and handling including bulk trucks and various packages
- Experience with TDG, segregation of dangerous goods, and safe handling of chemicals
- Working knowledge of various transportation methods including bulk trucks
- Strong commitment to safety and quality standards
- Strong team player and collaboration skills
- Must be able to lift/move 55 pounds
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
Education Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Forklift experience (Sit Down)-company will provide certification upon transition
