Job Type Full-timeDescriptionThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining proper preventive maintenance of all assigned equipment to minimize downtime, ensure a safe operation, and the ability to produce a quality product. This position will perform maintenance activities on all equipment and facilities as assigned and may provide subject-matter expertise in specific areas based on based on education and experience. This position is responsible for executing all daily maintenance functions, all preventive maintenance functions, and will ensure the safe and optimum utilization of all resources such as equipment, materials, and supplies in order toachieve the highest level of internal and external customer satisfaction, productivity, and efficiency.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESDemonstrates company values and shares the organizational commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and, a high-performance workforce through positive employee relations.Follows all environmental health and safety (EHS) policies, practices, protocols, and regulations.Proactively addresses any potential EHS issues and reports any unsafe conditions. Sets a positive example regarding EHS anda safety-first culture.Maintains and repairs CNC and manual mill/turns, lathes, mills, welders, hones, grinders, polishers, boring mills, and otherequipment as required.Troubleshoots and repairs CNC controls and PLC systems.Repairs plant equipment, examines machines, and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of issue.Maintains facility plumbing and compressed air/gas systems.Identifies and troubleshoots all mechanical parts and electrical sensors, solenoids, relays, etc. for replacement or repair.Installs, assembles, and tests new machines and equipment.Maintains and effectively performs a preventive maintenance schedule, completing all work center requirements on time.Maintains a clean and orderly (6S) work area and equipment to ensure a safe and productive work environment and qualityproducts .On a routine basis, inspects electrical equipment, wiring, fixtures, and other components to ensure they remain functional and are up to code, as well as to identify any hazards or issues.Determines the root cause for any malfunctions of systems or components and creates a maintenance or repair plan to solve the problem.Monitors, identifies, and responds promptly to signs of equipment malfunctions such as performance changes, temperature fluctuations, irregular sound or smells, or fluctuations in energy usagePursues continuous improvement by developing, implementing, and supporting solutions/strategies to increase productivity, reduce scrap, and improve the operation, and decrease downtime; participates in continuous improvement activities and projects.Repairs electrical systems, wiring, circuit breakers, equipment, and other components so that they remain at full functioning capacity.Performs regular and scheduled work for each piece of equipment as scheduled.Performs emergency repairs on equipment including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic. Identifies faulty components and replaces in a timely manner to minimize downtime and reduce negative impact on cost and customer service.Tests systems with devices such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and ohmmeters to ensure the system remains safe and that components are compatible.Reviews blueprints to understand the placement of wiring or to comprehend the working of the equipment to provide the appropriate service and repairsProvides suggestions on the lifespan of equipment and other electrical components, advising when certain components should be replaced due to potential risks.Follows work order instructions and make thorough repairs.Ensures proper functioning of facility Fire Protection and Security Alarm systems. •Maintains records and documentation through established methods of all maintenance and repair work conducted, including a record of any supplies ordered and used. •Ensure all routine maintenance work is handled on a regular schedule to reduce the risk of larger and more complex issues and to reduce costs. •Utilizes various hand and power tools to perform job functions; maintains company tools and equipment in good working order and may also be required to utilize a personal set of tools fully capable of meeting the needs of the role.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs other responsibilities as assigned and/or as needed to support company objectives.Meets on-site and other attendance requirements to effectively build positive relationships and interact with all employees.RequirementsWork Experience Required:3-5 years of experience as a multi-craft maintenance technician, with a high degree of electrical experience.3-5 years of maintenance technician experience in a precision machining or related industrial environment.Work Experience Preferred:3-5 years of experience as a maintenance electricianEducation and Skills:High School diploma or equivalent, required.Associates degree in mechanical, electrical, or engineering disciplines, preferred.Relevant electrician certifications.Strong safety orientation with a bias for proactive safety intervention.Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, welding/burning equipment, lifts, and other equipment required by this position; proficient with mechanical tools and capability of manual machining necessary for maintenance repairs.Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work collaboratively and effectively with others.Moderate level of computer skills required.Ability to accurately follow instructions.Proven critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in machine schematics and manuals and troubleshooting equipment, fluent in reading assembly mechanical prints.Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.Ability to learn and understand MPulse Work Order system and procedures.Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code.Fluent in all mechanical systems including drivetrains, hydraulic, pneumatic, pumping, and cooling systems.Must be able to hard pipe systems and use all associated tools.Must be able to measure at a micrometer level to determine part fitment and wear.Capable of using a meter to follow control wiring and validate a proper LOTOAbility and willingness to train others.Maintenance Technician II (as noted above plus)Industrial Maintenance training program certification/diploma required.Performs basic welding fundamentals.Self-assigns tasks based on safety and operational priorities from maintenance requests with limited guidance.Collaborates with production leaders and other team members to troubleshoot issues in a professional manner.Maintenance Technician III (as noted above plus)5-10 years of maintenance technician experience in a precision machining or related industrial environmentProactively and independently begins and completes tasks without guidance.Effectively collaborates cross functionally with all levels of operations to professionally troubleshoot equipment.Provides engineering on improvement projects and problem solving.Knowledge and proficiency in mechanical or electrical troubleshooting, or both.Ability to fabricate welded solutions without drawings or guidance.Ability to use schematics to complete installments, rebuilds, and project work.Ability to create and suggest modification to preventive maintenance schedules and effectively delegate tasks.Experience with complex CNC machine alignment.Senior Maintenance Technician (as noted above plus)More than 10 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, with subject matter expertise in a specific craft.Serves as a resource to other technicians in the department.Leads cross functional teams on improvement projects throughout the facility.Relied upon for their knowledge and experience with mechanical and electrical systems.More than 10 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.Expertise in mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting with a proficiency in both.Ability to lead cross functional teams on improvement projects throughout the facility.Highly proficient in mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust be able to perform the following physical demands with or without accommodation:Position may require person to be on their feet to 8-10 hours standing or walking in a heavy manufacturing environment, constantly performing regularly scheduled maintenance duties.Ability to lift objects weighing more than 50 pounds frequently.Ability to safely operate forklift, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment.Ability to see and hear in order to perform the functions of this position.Ability to speak, write and understand English fluently.Sitting - F, Standing - F, Walking - F, Lifting up to 50 lbs. - F, Bending - F, Climbing - O (ability to work at heights), Fine Motor Skills - FBased on an 8-hour DayInfrequently (I) 1-5%Occasionally (O) 6-33%Frequently (F) 34-66%Constantly (C) 67-100%The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work required by the position.
