Program Description:
The National Weather Service (NWS) Next Generation Radar (NEXRAD) Radar Operations Center (ROC) in Norman, Oklahoma, is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and modernization of the NEXRAD radar network, which is essential for the U.S.'s weather monitoring and forecasting. The ROC provides 24/7 technical support, oversees upgrades, and collaborates with research institutions and government agencies to enhance radar technology. It also manages the dissemination of critical radar data used for weather forecasting and severe weather alerts, ensuring the continued accuracy and reliability of this vital national infrastructure.
Centuria Corporation is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support the Budget Office for our government contract with the National Weather Service (NWS) Next Generation Radar (NEXRAD) Radar Operations Center (ROC). The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting with financial activities, managing administrative tasks, and ensuring the efficient operation of the budget office. This position requires a strong understanding of financial processes and excellent organizational skills.
Job Responsibilities:
•Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Budget Office, including preparing reports and handling correspondence related to financial and budgetary activities.
•Assist in the preparation, review, and distribution of financial documents such as budgets, forecasts, and financial reports. Ensure that all financial documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and properly filed in accordance with government contracting requirements.
•Coordinate meetings, conference calls, and other events.
•Enter and manage financial data in spreadsheets, databases, and financial management systems. Ensure data accuracy and consistency across all financial records, with a focus on compliance with government standards.
•Assist with data entry and the creation of spreadsheets or other data visualization tools as needed.
•Assist with the processing of invoices and purchase orders. Ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices, proper coding of expenses, and adherence to government contract guidelines.
•Handle general office duties such as ordering supplies, managing office equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
•Assist in generating financial reports, including budget status reports, variance analyses, and other financial summaries. Distribute reports to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner, ensuring alignment with government reporting requirements.
•Handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion.
Job Requirements:
•High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field preferred.
•A minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative support role, preferably within a financial or budget-related environment.
•Basic understanding of financial principles and budgeting processes.
•Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
•Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
•Ability to adjust and conform to varying schedules, organize and prioritize multiple tasks and problem solve.
