Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Database Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data model design, database architecture, and data implementation. This role is critical to ensuring our data solutions are scalable, reliable, and secure, supporting our platform for public safety clients. The Database Architect will collaborate with various teams to integrate data solutions, develop specifications for new products and services, and maintain data standards across the organization. This position will report to the Director of Platform & Integration Services.
Major Responsibilities:
- Scalability, Reliability, and Security:
- Ensure data solutions are scalable, reliable, and secure.
- Implement best practices for data security and integrity.
- Integration and Collaboration:
- Work with team members to integrate data solutions into existing systems and processes.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product managers, and software engineers to understand data requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Development and Implementation:
- Develop specifications for new products/services, applications, and service offerings.
- Design and develop the platform's data architecture, including data models, databases, data warehouses, and data lake solutions.
- Obtain data model requirements, develop and implement data models for new projects, and maintain existing data models and data architectures.
- Implement corresponding database changes to support new and modified applications.
- Ensure new designs conform to data standards and guidelines, are consistent, normalized, and perform as required, and are secure from unauthorized access or updates.
- Monitoring and Forecasting:
- Monitor and forecast database growth and capacity requirements.
- Provide guidelines on creating data models and various standards relating to governed data.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, and database design.
- Proficiency in database technologies such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL.
- Experience with data warehousing and data lake solutions.
- Strong understanding of data security and privacy regulations.
- Experience with Blob Storage, NoSQL, and unstructured data.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
