Structural Designer - EIT | Norcross, GA

Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC (ICE) is seeking a Structural Designer - EIT to join our Georgia-based team in the Norcross office. The EIT will play a crucial role in helping the design team ensure that the infrastructure designs meet technical and safety standards, budget, and timeline constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Analysis and design of structural components for bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and other transportation-related structural systems.
  • Deliver technical solutions to clients typically in the form of contract documents such as construction plans, design calculations, and project specifications.
  • Perform structural design utilizing AASHTO and other applicable design specifications as well as state and local design requirements.
  • Task management, seismic design, bridge/culvert inspection, load rating, review and approval of construction submittals, quality control, communication with clients, and additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High level of attention to detail is required.
  • Experience with Design-Bid-Build projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of GDOT Design Practices.
  • Must complete a pre-employment screening; ICE is a drug-free workplace.
  • Must be a US Citizen or have a Green Card (Visa sponsorship is not available for this position).

Education and Experience Requirements

  • BS in civil engineering required; MS desired.
  • EIT in Georgia required or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • 0-4 years of experience with transportation projects desired.
  • Experience with computer programs such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, ProjectWise, Open Roads, or similar programs.



Physical Demands

Must be able to work in a sedentary position for up to eight hours per day. Must have visual acuity to recognize/change/add precise details on CAD drawings. When performing field work, the employee may be required to drive, lift heavy objects, walk excessively, bend, reach, point, or direct others to move objects or materials. The general physical demands of this position are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Expected Hours of Work

The ICE offices are open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, allowing an unpaid hour for lunch daily. Work schedules may vary according to the project schedule.

Pay Range: $59,000 - $80,000 per year
