What you'll do
We are seeking a Field Technician to join our team in Boise, ID. This role works alongside our team to install Multimedia Audio Video (AV), Video Teleconferencing (VTC), Physical Access and Security systems, Wireless AP's and cabling. This role presents an exciting opportunity to join a mature Technology company and grow your career and skill set. We are a fast-paced environment, working with many cutting-edge technologies. Day-to-day tasks may include:
- General labor working on the physical layer aspect of multiple technologies.
- Installing Multimedia Audio Video (AV), Video Teleconferencing (VTC), Physical Access and Security systems, Wireless AP's and cabling.
- Reading (simple to complex) system design drawings including, but not limited to audiovisual system diagrams and schematic drawings; architectural diagrams, rack layouts, drawings and sketches; Install to specifications; and operational capabilities narratives, etc.
- Tracking and reporting time and materials against workorders/tickets/PO's.
- Completing daily and weekly reports.
Who you are
You're a strong team player that is invested in helping your customers and team succeed. We value coachability, attitude and work ethic over raw experience. You have the following knowledge, skills, abilities and/or education:
- Ability to rack and install physical equipment.
- Basic construction/handyperson skills. Understanding of tools and ways to professionally install hardware.
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
- Skilled in mounting monitors, over-head speakers, video end-points, video surveillance cameras and door hardware etc.
- Self-Motivated, with the ability to evaluate situations, utilizing logical and decisive reasoning.
- Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Ability to interpret multiple formats of technical specifications; schematic drawings and architectural diagrams.
- Basic computer skills.
Our ideal candidate will also have the following preferred knowledge and experience:
- Certified in installing copper and fiber optic infrastructures.
- 2 years' experience in the AV installation, Physical Security and or Telecom Cabling industry.
- Entry level knowledge of AV, Wireless, and Security systems design, operation and installation.
- Formal training in cable installation and termination desired.
- A/V and Physical Security manufacture certifications a plus.
