The Assistant Engineer will work under the Policy and Planning group and are responsible for routine office or field projects to direct them to completion .•Assist with grant application•Assist with grant reimbursements and reporting•Assist with cost-share collection and coordination•Assist with project cost reconciliation and JVs between departmentsPutting together site visit plansCompensation: $45.64/hr to $58.25/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Required Skills & Experience•Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or an FE Certificate•2-3 years' experience as an Assistant Engineer or equivalent•Knowledge of principles of physics and mathematics used in civil engineering and their application to engineering problems•General knowledge of civil engineering principals including but not limited to: topographic and construction surveying, hydraulics, pumps, civil engineering design and drafting methods, and/or equipment•Common methods and equipment in engineering construction and of inspection methods used in reviewing such work•Ability to make accurate computations and neat and accurate field notes•Expert user of technologies such as Adobe, PowerPoint, Excel, Microsoft Office, etc to create and maintain spreadsheets and prepare reports•Strong communicator with the ability to work alongside internal and external parties while remaining organized Nice to Have Skills & Experience•Experience with grants•Experience with PhotoshopProfessional Engineer License (PE) Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
