We are seeking an energetic, collaborative, and experienced Medical Receptionist to join our team! The Medical Receptionist manages efficient patient flow from arrival to departure, performs various clerical duties, and interfaces with clinic personnel, patients, visitors, and employees to ensure positive relationships. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing excellent patient service. Responsibilities

  • Professionally assist with patient check-in by greeting patients with a welcoming smile, verifying insurance, collecting copays, organizing & distributing fax documents, updating appropriate paperwork, and daily chart preparation.
  • Professionally assist with patient checkout by scheduling appointments and scanning documents into the electronic medical record.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls; handle applicable patient concerns as appropriate or triage to appropriate staff.
  • Travels to Satellite locations
  • Perform mathematical decisions regarding money exchange between patients and practice.
  • Perform well in a fast-paced high-volume practice, working multiple stations; including check-in, check-out, phone operator, and preparing charts and supplies for the following day.
  • Performs clerical, administrative tasks, and clinic support functions.
  • Maintains and keeps patients' information confidential.
  • Maintains a clean working environment, and EOC guidelines

Education, Training, and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of office experience working in a medical setting
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with patients, physicians, management, and employees
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel Outlook) along with the ability to learn and adapt quickly to new software.
  • Must be a self-starter, punctual and dependable.
  • Ability to be proactive, take initiative, and perform well in a fast-paced high-volume practice.
  • Excellent Organizational skills, multi-task, logical thinking, and prioritizing day-to-day tasks to keep work assignments current.

Maintains strict confidentiality regarding protected health information (PHI) and understands and adheres to TNR's HIPAA privacy and security policies and procedures.

Typical Physical Demands

Position requires prolonged walking, sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity are sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment is required. Employees must have a normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports.

Typical Working Conditions

Position functions within a normal office environment. Position requires prolonged walking, sitting, bending, stooping, and stretching. Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity are sufficient to operate a keyboard, mouse, telephone, copy/fax machine, and other office equipment. Employees must have a normal range of hearing and eyesight to record and prepare paper and MDI chart notes and documents. Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
