Job Description Summary
The Continuous Improvement Engineer will provide tactical support within the Schenectady Manufacturing facility in the development and sustainment of a Lean/Inventory Strategy aligned with the business imperatives. You will partner with organizational leadership to drive product and process improvements that deliver lead time reductions and maximize free cash flow while working directly with the manufacturing cells.

Essential Responsibilities
- Participate in coordinating all actions focused on COE projects & initiatives.
- Responsible for continuous improvement, being an innovator of positive change that impacts safety, profitability, inventory turns, on-time delivery, lead-time and quality. Effectiveness is measured primarily through predetermined metrics.
- Analyze problems, account for variances, drive for root cause and implement improved methods and procedures, create, review and update improvement plans.
- Communicates and coordinates effectively with supply chain partners to achieve goals and results. Drives execution of Lean principles and all related initiatives such as Kaizen events and other "Best in Class" quality processes by leveraging appropriate team members and functional support personnel. Drive cross training efforts to best support safety, quality, productivity, cost and schedule commitment.
- Directly lead and manage various cross-functional teams of hourly and salaried individuals in support of Kaizen and Lean Action Work-out events.
- Execute the lean strategy for the organization focused on each value stream and subsequently drive implementation.
- Create and improve Value Stream Maps to identify opportunities for production/process enhancement to achieve organizational goal.
- Implement tools and metrics to improve visibility to operational health and lean performance.
- Execute Lean Manufacturing initiatives including set-up reduction, workplace organization, standardized work, process/workflow improvements, and visual management, and inventory reduction.
- Must be able to multi-task, manage projects, and work independently in fast-paced environment.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Manufacturing).
- Minimum of 3 additional years in a production manufacturing role responsible for driving process improvements.

- Ability to develop and motivate a high-involvement team through commitment to meeting customer and organization demands.
- Knowledge of the disciplines of manufacturing management such as production and inventory control, quality management systems, and standard cost systems.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing policies and regulations as well as government and other customers.
- Knowledge of products, processes, customer requirements and budgeting / financial processes.
The base pay range for this position is $90,400- $120,500 The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for 10% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity.
*The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
