How will your role impact First Command?
The SVP Strategic Initiatives Office is a pivotal role accountable for overseeing and driving the alignment and execution of strategic priorities across various business domains. This position focuses on orchestrating and implementing high-impact initiatives that contribute to organizational growth and efficiency. Emphasis will be on fostering collaboration, ensuring strategic alignment, and optimizing business execution delivery models to maximize effectiveness.
What will you be doing?
Lead the development and management of a comprehensive view of high-priority strategic initiatives spanning different business areas in banking, insurance, planning, investments, and enterprise-wide, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to define strategic priorities, facilitate resource planning, and prioritize strategic initiatives based on their impact and alignment with the overall strategy.
Establish and nurture collaborative relationships across different business units, fostering alignment and autonomy necessary for the successful execution of strategic initiatives.
Drive, manage, and track a diverse portfolio of deliverables, including experimentation and 'test and learn' approaches to refine future strategic initiatives and enhance performance.
Partner with Agile Delivery Practice leads to optimize operating models, ensuring seamless integration of strategic initiatives within the organizational framework.
Facilitate senior leadership strategy discussions and lead meetings to ensure consistency and alignment across various business domains.
Support the prioritization of strategic business initiatives, addressing risks and dependencies, and ensuring alignment with technology and business strategies.
Develop and implement alignment against a multi-year strategy and roadmaps, aligning them with business, technology, and product objectives and requirements.
Act as a change agent, fostering an inclusive environment for generating and implementing new ideas and solutions, while effectively managing conflict and mitigating risks.
Work collaboratively with the VP, Office of Strategy Management to help drive a coordinated and efficient strategic planning process.
Collaborate with the VP, Office of Strategy Management to develop plans for ecosystem governance management work streams that will enable achievement of these strategic goals.
Drive consensus and influence decisions by bridging divergent perspectives and leveraging sound judgment to identify optimal solutions.
Collaborate closely and intentionally with the SVP, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), SVP, Chief Information Officer (CIO), and SVP, Digital Solutions Strategy. Coordinate and partner with these important stakeholders on a regular basis.

What skills/qualifications do you need for this role?
Education
Bachelor’s degree required
Work Experience
10+ years of progressively increasing experience in business/program management/technology environment preferred
5+ years of project management and/or business experience preferred
Certifications
PMP certification required
Agile certification required (CSM, SAFe, PMI-ACP, etc.)
Prosci certification preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Strong organizational and communication skills
Proficiency in advanced project management methodologies and Agile principles
Experience in developing strong, trusted partnerships with senior executives and constituent partners
Excellent facilitation and conflict resolution skills
Deep understanding of business intelligence/analytics and technology components of program/portfolio management
Ability to develop multi-year technology strategies and roadmaps
Strong business acumen and technical expertise
Ability to drive change and create an inclusive environment for innovation
Strategic planning expertise with the ability to identify patterns and connections in a complex environment
Ability to challenge effectively and drive consensus among stakeholders
Proficiency in business readiness planning and execution, including communication, training, change management, and benefits realization planning
