Verizon Employee Discount) Red Wing Shoe Safety Footwear Program Annual Tool Reimbursement Program Position Summary: To perform both engine and chassis repairs on primarily Kenworth trucks, but also Peterbilt, International, Freightliner, vocational vehicles, and other makes. The scope of the job includes diagnosis, troubleshooting, and writing detailed stories for documentation purposes in addition to the physical work done on the truck. Essential Position Functions/Responsibilities Provides technical services to vehicles and equipment. Reads job order and observes and listens to vehicles in operation to resolve malfunctions and plan work procedures. Follows checklists to ensure all critical parts are examined. Coordinates with warranty administrators to ensure maximum profit recapture, including answering questions after repair and tagging warranty parts for return. Adheres to manufacturer's policies and procedures as they relate to labor operations, time, and repair order documentation. Maintains designated workspace in an organized and clean manner. Completes all work according to the applicable safety requirements and published procedures. Properly completes all work assigned by service manager/advisor and test drives vehicles to verify that issues are fixed. Participates in technical training assigned by management. Ensures customer vehicles are returned at same level of cleanliness prior to being serviced. Makes every effort to achieve production objectives set by management. Examines protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks and adjusts as needed. Develops and maintains friendly and courteous relationships with customers, visitors, and coworkers. Education & Essential Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED 1+ years Fleet or Dealership experience Possess own tools Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills Customer service skills to ensure friendly and professional interactions with customers Key Attributes/Characteristics: Honest, dependable, organized & resourceful Must be self-motivated and professional Dedication to teamwork and collaboration Must have the desire to provide strong customer service Independent thinking Preferred Qualifications: ASE certification CDL certification Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
