** Environmental Health & Safety Manager**

**Position Description:**

UCC Environmental is a progressive well-run company, with excellent customer relationships and Utility specific sustainable technology solutions. It has developed a business strategy encompassing market growth through a variety of channels, including expanded International sales coverage. The Company has strong sales channels in North America, and currently possesses emerging sales channels in EMEA and Asia-Pacific (AP).

The EHS Manager will lead all efforts to ensure UCC maintains a safe and healthy work environment for its employees, regardless of where they work. To accomplish this, the EHS Manager will need to maintain a presence in the manufacturing plant along with regular visits to project job sites in the United States where UCC is leading equipment construction and commissioning efforts. Finally, the person in this role will also be responsible for leading efforts to ensure the company is a good steward of the environment in all activities.

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities:**

* Build out and standardize a single, company-wide safety program.

* Support site safety needs: conduct safety inspections, develop site safety plans, train site staff on hazard identification, accident investigation, and behavioral safety.

* Lead safety training and follow up to meet federal, state and local compliance needs.

* Meet all federal, state and local EHS standards and reporting requirements. Monitors compliance with safety procedures. Maintains OSHA records and Logs.

* Establish and drive a company-wide environmental program.

* Maintain records of discharge of, or employee exposure to, hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required.

* Conduct regular audits of program and engage in annual Captive GAP audit process. Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.

* Performs all other duties as assigned including support of Continuous Improvement activities

**Education and Experience:**

* Bachelors Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety or other related field required

* At least 5 years of relevant experience leading safety in an Engineering or Manufacturing organization

**Characteristics and Skills:**

* Able to communicate effectively with fellow employees, supervisors and other office personnel and work through others to accomplish goals

* Strong written and verbal communicator with the heart of a teacher

* Capable at producing professional presentations and written documents and conducting safety training

* Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies

* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

* Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections

* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

* Able to travel domestically and internationally 20% of the time

**Essential Physical Abilities:**

* Ability to work seated for large portions of the day.

* Ability to work standing when required for 8 hours per day.

* Ability to walk 1 mile or more at a time if on a customer site.

* Requires the ability to lift as much as 50 pounds.
