Responsibilities:
- Design of fire alarm and fire suppression systems
- Review and development of life safety plans
- Life safety and building code consulting
- Collaboration with a variety of engineering and architectural disciplines
- Interface with local AHJs and building owner insurance representatives
- Development of site fire protection features and fire department access plans
- Analysis of smoke movement, means egress, and fire hazards
- Communication with clients and writing technical reports
Qualifications:
- Bachelors of Science degree from an ABET accredited engineering program
- Professional license
- Experience in fire suppression, fire alarm, and life safety review and design
- Experience with Revit, AutoCad, and fire protection related computational programs
- Knowledge of adopted building codes and governmental (DoD, VA, GSA) standards
- Experience working with NFPA codes and standards
- Proven track record of communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to obtain security clearance as required
Capability to travel is preferred.
