The Bureau of Employment Services is seeking a Division Director to join the bureaus leadership team. This individual will administer and oversee various state and federal programs and grants as well as lead grant and report writing efforts. They will lead a team of program managers by providing direction, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and policies, and aligning program activities with bureau and department goals and objectives. They will establish, grow, and maintain collaborative relationships with other state, federal, and municipal agencies, workforce boards, community organizations, labor unions, business groups, and employers to promote partnerships leading to effective and efficient services to Maine workers.

***Representative Tasks:***

* Plans, organizes, coordinates, controls, and evaluates programs.

* Reviews, and evaluates operations in order to ensure compliance with laws policies, and procedures, quality of service, efficiency of operations, and development of procedural and, or automation changes.

* Hires/Directs/supervises/motivates/coordinates/reviews/appraises employees in the performance of the work.

* Initiates and maintains collaborative relationships with other state, federal, and municipal agencies, workforce boards, community organizations, labor unions, business groups, and employers to promote effective, efficient, and easy to access services to Maine workers and employers.

* Develops, controls, evaluates, and revises budgets for programs in order to ensure effective administration.

* Leads grant-writing activities by staying current on opportunities, coordinating efforts with other stakeholders, understanding grant requirements and guidance, ensuring timely submissions.

* Initiates, plans, conducts, and addresses meetings, seminars, and training sessions in order to disseminate program material, policy information, and agency goals and objectives.

***Minimum qualifications:***

A twelve (12) year combination of education, training, and/or professional experience in employment services or closely related field which demonstrates competence in fiscal management, policy development, and program management.
