The Department of Sociology at St. Mary's University invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor of Sociology position. The position is expected to begin August 2024, and involves teaching three credit hours per semester with the possibility of renewal based on funding, availability, and performance. An M.S. or M.A. in Sociology or related discipline in preferred; a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in Sociology or related field is required. A successful candidate is expected to be on campus and to teach in-person.

Expected duties include:

  • Teaching Introductory Sociology (one course per semester)
  • Typical course size in the department is 20 - 25 students per section.
  • Hold weekly office hours in person or virtually.
  • Maintain a Canvas page for each course.
  • Record student attendance in Rattler Navigate.
  • Provide timely grade and attendance reporting.
