Contract Appliance Repair Assistant Purpose and Description Client is looking for an Appliance Repair Assistant to support the Major Appliance Repair Network. This role will be responsible for assisting the Appliance Repair Technicians on any repairs that require additional support. This additional support may include, but is not limited to lifting televisions, assisting in moving heavy appliances, and transporting tools and/or materials. The ideal candidate for this role will be able to stand, lift, and push heavy loads and will also require self-supported transportation that can travel up to 100 miles (one way) per day. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who is looking to learn new skills and position themselves for potential advancement in the Major Appliance Repair Industry. Essential Functions Assist Repair Technicians or any other employees within the Appliance Repair Network that need support with lifting or working on repairs Handle and transport tools and/or materials Diligently follow instructions from supervisors and/or technicians to assist completing repairs Put up warning cones around vehicles Other duties as assigned Minimum Requirements: The following are required to enable job holders to perform the essential functions of the job. Excellent customer service skills Ability to meet the physical demands of the job Ability to lift heavy loads of up to 60-70 pounds Standing for periods greater than 2 hours Driving, or sitting, for periods greater than 2 hours Good hand-eye coordination Excellent communication and teamwork skills are imperative Willingness to learn new skills Commitment to safety and all safety rules Ability to follow directions and contribute to a safe work environment Previous repair training is preferred, but not necessary Specific vision abilities that may be required by this job including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Vocal communications is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and/or to communicate with customers and/or clients. Exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, chemicals, and such matters as asks for overtime or shift work. Exposure to various materials including cardboard, various metals and plastics. Exposure to instruments or material with sharp edges which may involve the risk of injury. High School Diploma/GED
