Overview:

Bergmann, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, is seeking Senior Traffic Project Engineers to join our team in Ohio! The candidate that fills this role can be located anywhere in Ohio.

Our engineers design safe, effective and award winning transportation projects that enhance the infrastructure of our communities. Our experts ensure that complex interchanges flow smoothly and signature highway corridors are a gateway to the communities they represent. We provide planning and analysis services to create cost effective solutions that also improve safety and reduce traffic congestion.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply engineering fundamentals for technical support of project design teams
  • Develop drawings by modifying or replicating prior projects
  • Ability to create drawings from sketches
  • Ability to ensure designs are in accordance with company and client production and design standards
  • Perform engineering calculations and create estimates
  • Research and apply code provisions to design
  • Create cost estimates for project alternatives
  • Perform QA/QC by verifying design methodology, calculations, outcomes, etc.
  • Interpret drawings from multiple disciplines for specific projects
  • Research design options and document findings for project engineer/manager
  • Submit concept designs and work through approval processes such as permits from municipalities
  • Prepare or review scopes of work and budgets, and schedule assignments
  • Provide direction to engineers, technicians and administrative staff
  • Prepare proposals to provide professional services
  • Work alongside the design team managers to successfully complete projects within established budgets and deadlines

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 7 years traffic design experience preferred
  • Prior experience with ODOT is a plus
  • PE license in Ohio (or reciprocity) is required, PTOE is a plus
  • Proficient in MicroStation and AutoCAD with a working knowledge of Synchro, VISSIM, Open Roads, HSM and HCS

  • Previous experience mentoring junior level staff is a plus
