From the iconic HUMVEE vehicles, to the JLTV A2, AM General strives to offer continuous improvement that keeps us Mission Ready, Future Driven.SUMMARYThis is a Skilled Trades position.This position will be responsible for equipment maintenance, facility maintenance and preventative maintenance.The ability to possess or qualify for a Journeymans card is required.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPrimary responsibilities include keeping production running with minimal down time.May required to perform additional responsibilities performed by current Journeyman Pipefitters, Journeyman Machine Repair, and Journeyman Millwrights.Must be able to physically support a manufacturing environment through evaluation of the floor issue resolution and problem solving.Must be able to safely use a hoist, including strapping/rigging. Must be able to climb ladders.Ability to make repairs on conveyor's, production equipmentComplete preventive maintenance work such as inspecting and replacing belts, greasing bearings, tightening chains, loading and unloading of maintenance material and equipment,Rigging and machinery installation and removal,Moving HMMWV bodies, carriers, and strong backs.Perform all maintenance and repairs of blast equipment.Perform plumbing and piping repairs,Perform maintenance on all piping systems and valves (compressed air, natural gas, domestic water, wastewater, process fluids, steam).Complete various repairs including toilets, sinks, and drains.Maintain and repair machinery, pumps, valves, gearboxes, cylinders, torque tools riveters, and related equipment, changing hydraulic and gear oil.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCEAbility to weld, fabricate, run torches.Must possess or have the ability to qualify for a Millwright, Pipefitter or Machine Repair journeymans card.Qualifications to receive a card: to have served a bona fide apprenticeship and present a certificate which substantiates claims of having satisfactorily completed an apprenticeship program similar to that at AM General; who has had eight (8) years practical experience at the trade and can establish satisfactory proof thereof to the Company and the Union, by means of notarized affidavit, or present a UAW Journeyperson's Card.BenefitsMedical Insurance choice of PPO's or HDHSCosts range from $0-$69 weekly for single through family coverage based on plan chosenDental/ Vision Insurance401(k) plan with company match401(k) Automatic company contributionAM General Defined Benefit PlanVacationAverage 15 holidays per year-including the last week of the year.Basic Life InsuranceSafety Shoe programTuition refund for eligible classesEAP ProgramChristmas BonusProfit Sharing BonusWAGESSkilled Trades hourly wage: $32.39PHYSICAL EFFORTPhysical activity.
