Weekend Millwright

Description
The main responsibilities of a millwright are to keep the mill running, fix any breakdown, and maintain machinery to prevent break down. In addition, millwrights may work on larger projects such as repairing and maintaining cylinders, belts, conveyors, chains, motors, and valves and fabricating new equipment. This position is for four ten-hour shifts Friday-Monday.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Practices safe behavior at all times
- Fixes and maintains machinery
- Completes welding where necessary
- Provides carpentry work where needed
- Performs preventative maintenance on machines
- Maintains good housekeeping
- Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
- Dismantles machines
- Moves machinery and equipment
- Assembles and installs equipment such as shafting, and conveyors
- Constructs foundation for machines
- Aligns machines and equipment
- Assembles machines, bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to the foundation or other structures.
- Repairs and lubricates machines and equipment
- Other duties as assigned

- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous experience in related positions through a combination of education and related work
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and work order systems
- Able to analyze and troubleshoot mechanical issues through data analytics, intuition, and experience.
- Effectively able to communicate through written and verbal forms of communication
- Ability to read and interpret documents like safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, manuals, and blueprints
- Ability to perform basic mathematical equations
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; work in high, precarious places; outdoor weather conditions; extreme cold (non-weather); extreme heat (non-weather) and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit.
- Pay: $36.20+ per hour
