**JOB OVERVIEW**
The PFS Systems Specialist is responsible for providing technical support to Patient Financial Services (PFS) to ensure functional needs are achieved. Technical support to include managing PFS software through configuration as well as end user support. PFS Systems Specialist will also support PFS by acting as primary point of contact with ancillary vendors. In addition, PFS Systems Specialist may be required to provide representation related to internal billing/operational/IT initiatives.
**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:**
- Provide technical assistance and support in adherence to established processes for incoming inquiries and issues related to healthcare PFS application
- Research and resolve PFS application issues, with emphasis on root causes and reduction
- Configures new prices, tests codes, payers, diagnosis codes, consolidation rules, MUEs and other business rules
- Maintain PFS application support table configurations (Clients, Payers, Procedures, etc)
- Performs analysis on the system software configuration to optimize and improve the processing system
- Makes recommendations for system enhancements and new features
- Assists with user acceptance testing and facilitating billing end-user testing of application releases to verify adherence to requirements
- Properly escalate unresolved inquiries to next level support in a timely manner
- Works productively and efficiently to achieve company and departmental goals
- Other duties as assigned
**JOB REQUIREMENTS:**
* High School diploma required; college degree preferred
* Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
* Excellent computer skills
* Understanding of healthcare claim and invoice processing; genetic testing experience a plus
* Analytical skills in the areas of claim processing, billing and reimbursement as affected by various data systems
* Ability to convey complex ideas in an easily understood manner to guide audience through written or verbal communications
* Ability to work independently
* Excellent attention to detail
* Must demonstrate problem solving and strong organizational skills
* Experience with healthcare PFS Application configurations; XIFIN software
* 1-2+ year of experience in analytic, technical, and reporting experience with health care data
* 2+ years of experience in a clinical laboratory preferred, especially genetic billing
* 2+ years of experience in all aspects of the billing revenue cycle a plus
