Civil Project Engineer / Project Manager (Land Development)

IMEG Corp. is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Civil Project Engineer in our South Dakota offices. As Civil Project Engineer you will be responsible for Leading team members as Project Manager in detailed engineering analysis and preparation of engineering reports, plans and specifications, permit applications, and construction documents. Provides guidance through the design process and navigates permitting and government regulations while maintaining clear communication with clients and team members. Acts as a liaison between the client and team, using appropriate staff to guide projects to their successful completion on budget and on schedule in accordance with the team's Core Values.
Some key duties and responsibilities include:
- Provides leadership, guidance, and performance tracking for engineering projects
- Manages multiple projects to a high-level of performance
- Meets with clients to determine their goals and objectives, gathering sufficient information to prepare an appropriate scope, budget, and schedule.
- Prepares proposals for engineering services
- Completes permit applications to appropriate agencies, ensuring projects are compliant with applicable design standards and regulations
- Coordinates with planning, survey, municipal, transportation, traffic, and other civil departments and disciplines
- Delegates portions of project to appropriate staff members
- Reviews complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance
- Assists upper-level management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor
- Assists with setting weekly schedules and attends weekly meetings with other Project Managers to discuss future staffing needs
- Follows billing standards and works with accounting to invoice projects monthly
- Performs work in accordance with the IMEG Standards
- Provides mentorship to junior engineers and takes responsibility for the quality of their work product
- Directs and trains Civil Engineers, Civil Design Technicians, and Civil Support Staff
- Establishes relationships with agencies and review staff
- Obtains proficiency with local regulations for our civil design requirements
- Join a community-based boards or committees
- Pursues training to further professional development
Key skills and abilities needed for the position are:
- Mastery of design techniques, best practices, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, specifications, and drawings
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in construction
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and AutoCAD Civil 3D software
- Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing to individuals or groups
Education and experience requirements are:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer license
- 4-8 years progressive experience of engineering design
- This position is not eligible for sponsorship
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds
- Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull
- Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises
