Job Summary:

Performs troubleshooting, repairs, in-service, training and system testing of fire alarm circuits, controls, devices, suppression systems, life safety related equipment and other hospital electrical equipment as required. Knowledge and understanding of related requirements as dictated by the applicable NFPA, AHCA, TJC, NEC and other agencies with overseeing jurisdiction. Runs commercial and industrial electrical construction projects using NEC, specifications and blueprints with knowledge of AHCA and related regulations. Maintains a parts and materials inventory, directly scheduling daily work assignments and projects, and to keep logs and records of same. Acts as a liaison between Supervisor, Project Managers, and outside Contractors. Fosters departmental and interdepartmental working relationships. Encourages high customer-service outcomes and foster financial, ethical and individual accountability. Administers corrective action procedures as required, in coordination with the Supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

- Require three (3) years of experience as a fire alarm technician, preferably in commercial applications.

Must have the ability to perform the following:

- Installation, maintenance, and repairs of complex multiple building/level alarm systems, controls, SLC, NAC circuits and suppression systems for a healthcare setting.

- Installation of electrical conduit systems using EMT, rigid and/or PVC.

- Size wire/cable to proper electrical load requirements, conduit sizes and wire coding as required by N.E.C.

- Wire complex fire alarm control circuits to effect proper operation of same.

- Conduct comprehensive safety testing and preventive maintenance of electrical systems and
equipment with properly recorded documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Prefer demonstrated familiarity with computers and software (Windows Operating Systems).
- Prefer demonstrated familiarity with codes applicable to life safety field and industry related.
- Prefer demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication.
- Prefer working knowledge of hand tools pertinent to trade(s).
- Prefer the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Prefer advanced knowledge of EST systems.
