Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Quality Engineer proficient in programming and staging of product to perform proper inspection utilizing a CMM. We are looking for individuals that are able to perform the following:

  • Assist in design and development of inspection fixtures.
  • Demonstrates general knowledge of testing and measurement equipment such as digital height gauges, micrometers, calipers, plug gauges, optical comparator, radius gauges, hardness tester, and force gage.
  • Demonstrates blueprint reading skills, shop math and/or algebra and interpretation of GD&T.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and the application of statistical process control.

We are looking for an individual with an understanding of sheet metal, machining fabrication and non-traditional manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementation and initiation of standards and methods for programming of CMM, inspection with CMM, and evaluating the reports.
  • Develop and customize measurement programs for CMMs using PC-DMIS software.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T specifications, and component requirements.
  • Must perform inspection of parts, assemblies, products and/or materials for quality, defects, appearance, finishes and operation from specifications, drawings, or Cad files.
  • Familiar and able to apply sample plan tables.
  • Knowledge of the ISO 9001 standard and/or AS9100.
  • Calibrate equipment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and processes that can hinder or create specific concerns for operations such as blanking, forming, stamping, welding, turning and/or machining.
  • Initiates findings and/or confirms discrepant material, implements methods for disposition for both root cause and corrective action.
  • Supports manufacturing personnel engaged in measuring and testing of products.
  • Determines and develops quality plans for manufacturing, may assist quality technicians by setting direct reading and/or adjustable gauges and test sets.

Qualifications:

  • All individuals seeking an opportunity to become a Quality Engineer must take the quality examination and perform to a minimum level of 80% satisfaction to be considered for a level of fully qualified or higher.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience of five years in a manufacturing engineering role within (your industry/field).
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, process optimization, and production tooling.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor with internal and external customers. Must demonstrate excellent technical communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot production issues effectively.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across different departments.
  • Knowledge of quality control standards and regulatory requirements in (your industry/field).
  • Personnel must be able to physically maneuver product individually up to 30 lbs per part or fixture and be able to deliver product or reports throughout the facility.

Hours:

  • Full Time - 40 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday
