Operations Manager is accountable for supporting the Operations Manager leading and managing the yard operation to ensure the safety of the employees, providing superior customer service, and maintaining profitable financial performance while maintaining a best of industry service for the location.Core CompetenciesLeadershipExecution & Decision MakingCommunicationsStrategy DevelopmentBusiness AcumenNegotiation SkillsTechnical CompetenceCritical ThinkingDuties and ResponsibilitiesContinue to grow the business through seeking new opportunities and high-profile leads while retaining current customer satisfaction.Motivate and maintain high level of morale among employees by promoting Sterling Crane's culture of safety, vision and mission.Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring a high-quality culture of safety with all employees.Maintain a thorough knowledge of safety guidelines and criteria as it relates to various business functions including crane operations.Participate and/or facilitate monthly safety meetings with assigned Site Leaders.Thorough knowledge of formal industry specific regulations.Ensure the Purchase Order system is properly maintained.Work with Operations Manager to analyze P&L for contribution margin control and ultimately bottom-line growth.Establish and maintain relationships with customers by providing a high level of service and by meeting goals set by the customer and Sterling Crane.Communicate with customer representatives to evaluate crew's performance and customer's needs.Escalate operational issues and customer concerns to Operations Manager as needed.Assist DOT Compliance Officer as needed in relation to employee compliance.Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.QualificationsThe qualifications listed below represent the credentials necessary to perform the essential duties of this position.
