Position Overview:

Aqua Service is seeking an experienced Water Treatment Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in servicing water treatment systems, including but not limited to softeners and reverse osmosis (RO) units. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing water treatment equipment at various customer sites within Illinois, Indiana.

Must live within the Chicago metro area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a variety of commercial and industrial water treatment systems, including softeners and RO units.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with water treatment equipment and determine the best course of action for repairs.
  • Install new water treatment systems and components as needed.
  • Ability to install piping ( galvanized, copper, and PVC)
  • Provide excellent customer service, including explaining repairs and maintenance procedures to customers and addressing any concerns they may have.
  • Maintain accurate records of service visits, including work performed and parts used.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies at all times.
  • Pick up and deliver water softener salt bags (40lb each)
  • Pick up and deliver Deionized Water tanks.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and new technologies related to water treatment.
  • Collaborate with other team members and provide training and guidance to junior technicians when necessary.


  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in water treatment or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in servicing and repairing commercial and industrial water treatment systems, particularly softeners and RO units.
  • Strong mechanical and technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment as needed.
  • Basic computer skills for maintaining service records and communication.
  • Must be able to pass a Drug and Background check as required by certain customers.
