Position Overview:

The Primary purpose of the Financial Controller is to lead monthly financial close, accounting and reporting, ensuring accurate results are delivered on time for reporting, providing our leadership team and owners with strategic analysis and business financial forecasts. This position will also be responsible for day-to-day company finances, including, but not limited to, account payables and receivables, banking, cash management, payroll, financial reporting, tax filings, budget analysis and preparation, forecasting, development of internal control policies and procedures. This position will have some support of human resources, company operations and administrative tasks will be necessary.

  1. Resident Engagement: Provide full-cycle financial management ensuring adequate staffing and supply needs for providing top notch care for our residents.
  2. Team Player: Promotes and fosters culture of positive working environment and focuses on teamwork
  3. Community Relations: Build strong relationships with employees, residents, and the broader community to create a supportive and inclusive working environment.
  4. Quality of Care: Ensures financial initiatives are met to support the highest level of quality care provided to our residents while meeting their physical, emotional, and social needs.
  5. Organizational Support and Professionalism: Follows all policies and procedures while supporting the organization’s goals and values and remaining professional at all times. Provides supportive leadership while offering recommendations for accounting policies and procedures to ensure appropriate fiscal responsibilities are met.

Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  1. Education and/or Experience:
    1. History of success in a Financial Controller, Senior Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor, or Finance Manager Role. Exposure to senior services, hospitality, property ownership or multi-company firms desired
    2. Experience Managing Processes, Financial Software, Developing Standards, Audit, Accounting, Company Finance, Tracking Budget Expenses, Financial Skills, Analyzing Information, Developing Budgets, Performance Management.
    3. Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP, bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.
    4. Advanced computer skills in MS Office, QuickBooks, ADP, Excel, and similar systems.
    5. BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus
  2. Abilities:
    1. Highly proficient at reading, writing, and communicating in English
    2. Ability to occasionally lift, pull, or push up to 25 lbs.
    3. Ability to sit for long periods of time

All benefits and wages offered are reviewed annually and are based on employment status of 30 hours or more per week*.
