Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse - LPNJob ID: DG958757518Location: Medical Lake, WAOverview:Under general supervision, as an experienced licensed practical nurse, provides practical nursing services in a hospital, school, or other treatment facility orwithin a Division of Mental Health psychiatric treatment facility, provides practical nursing services for mentally ill patients or residents.What you will be doing:

  • Attends to the general care of patients or residents, provides for their emotional and physical comfort and safety, and maintains an attractive and comfortable environment; gives assistance and guidance in cleanliness, grooming, rest, activities, and nourishment;
  • Promotes better understanding of hospital policies in contacts with patients' or residents’ relatives;
  • Assists with the rehabilitation of patients or residents according to the treatment plan;
  • Participates in in-service education programs and staff and treatment team conferences;
  • Cares for patients or residents with communicable diseases including necessary sterilization and observation of aseptic techniques; preparation and aftercare of treatment and administration of medications, except I.V. medications;
  • Provides care to assigned patients or residents utilizing the current treatment plan;
  • Encourages, supervises, and participates with patients or residents in group or individual recreational, social, or related activities;
  • Observes, records, and reports the general condition of patients or residents;
  • May supervise lower-level staff.
  • Inspects housing and treatment areas, supplies, equipment, and patients or residents for health, sanitation, safety, security, and other conditions that may be detrimental to the care and treatment of the patients or residents;
  • Participates in providing therapeutic environment through acceptance of patients or residents behavior and guidance toward more rational behavior;
  • Prepares and cares for patients or residents receiving specialized treatments administered by the physician or the professional nurse; performs selected nursing procedures;
  • Prepares and administers oral, subcutaneous, and intramuscular medications under the supervision of the professional nurse;
  • Performs other duties as required.

What you must have:

  • Possession of a current Washington State license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • One year of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
