Responsibilities:

  • Provide occupational therapy services to patients in the inpatient rehabilitation unit.
  • Evaluate patients' functional abilities and limitations to determine appropriate treatment plans.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment programs to improve patients' mobility, strength, coordination, and independence in activities of daily living.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, nurses, and other therapists, to optimize patient care and outcomes.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques to achieve patient goals.
  • Monitor patients' progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and document all interventions and outcomes accurately.
  • Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, adaptive equipment, and home management techniques.
  • Participate in discharge planning and coordinate post-discharge care to ensure continuity of care and promote successful transition to home or other settings.
  • Adhere to facility policies, procedures, and regulatory standards to maintain quality of care and patient safety.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure in Rhode Island.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in inpatient rehabilitation or a related setting preferred.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.

Certifications:

  • CPR certification required.
  • COVID-19 vaccination (medical exemptions only) and flu vaccination (medical/religious exemptions and declinations allowed) as per facility guidelines.
