Location: Onsite – Hazelwood, MO

Reports To: CEO

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | Occasional Evenings and Weekends Required

Pay Range: $20.00 – $26.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Circle of Care St. Louis is a nonprofit organization committed to helping older adults and adults with disabilities live with dignity and independence. Through home and community-based programs, we serve under-resourced communities across the St. Louis region.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Development & Training Coordinator to strengthen our fundraising, volunteer engagement, and internal capacity-building efforts. This role is ideal for a people-centered professional who thrives on organizing systems, leading training, and contributing to long-term community impact.

Position Summary

The Development & Training Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the organization’s fundraising initiatives, volunteer coordination, and staff development. This includes assisting with grant writing and donor communications, managing volunteer recruitment and onboarding, and leading internal training efforts for both staff and volunteers. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping people grow.

Key Responsibilities

Fund Development & Grants (35%)

  • Assist with researching, writing, and editing grant proposals, LOIs, and reports
  • Maintain fundraising calendars, submission timelines, and donor tracking
  • Draft donor outreach content, including appeals, acknowledgements, and updates
  • Support donor stewardship and campaign coordination

Volunteer Coordination (25%)

  • Recruit, onboard, and schedule volunteers for programs and events
  • Lead volunteer orientation and training sessions
  • Maintain accurate volunteer records and ensure ongoing communication
  • Collaborate with staff to match volunteers with organizational needs

Staff Orientation & Training (25%)

  • Coordinate onboarding and orientation for new staff
  • Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions
  • Maintain training tools, materials, and compliance records
  • Support internal knowledge-sharing and staff development

Events & Community Engagement (15%)

  • Assist with planning and logistics for community events and fundraisers (e.g., Respect Your Elders Fashion Show, Diabetes Banquet)
  • Represent the organization at outreach events and resource fairs
  • Support marketing efforts, including flyer design and social media promotion

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in nonprofit development, volunteer management, or training
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Experience leading training or orientation sessions
  • High level of organization and follow-through
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Preferred experience with:
  • Little Green Light (donor management)
  • Canva (design & presentations)
  • Facebook Business Suite
  • VolunteerMatch
  • Slack, GrantStation, Monday.com, and AI writing tools
  • Availability for occasional evenings and weekends
  • Commitment to serving older adults and individuals with disabilities

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Rate: $20.00 – $26.00, based on experience
  • Bonus Opportunities: Performance-based bonuses may be awarded based on fundraising, training impact, and project outcomes
