Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A School Psychologist position is available at an elementary school in Douglas, Alaska. This contract role is for the current school year (CSY) and offers the opportunity to provide essential psychological services that support student development and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological assessments to identify student needs and develop intervention plans
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and administrators to promote student well-being
  • Provide counseling and crisis intervention services as needed
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and offer expertise on special education eligibility and accommodations
  • Implement evidence-based strategies for behavioral and academic improvement
  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions accordingly

Qualifications:

  • Valid school psychologist certification or license as required by Alaska
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children in a school setting
  • Strong skills in assessment, report writing, and data interpretation
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledge of federal and state special education regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
