About Us:
Community Partnership of Southeast Missouri (CPSEMO) is a nonprofit organization committed to empowering individuals and strengthening communities through housing, employment, education, and social services. Our YouthBuild Program helps young people ages 1624 earn their high school equivalency, gain hands-on construction experience, and prepare for employment or post-secondary education.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled individual to serve as a Construction Liaison for our YouthBuild Program. This unique role combines job coaching and hands-on construction instruction to support youth in building career skills and entering the workforce. The individual in this role will work side-by-side with our current Construction Trainer and Job Developer as part of a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities:
Construction Training Duties:
- Teach basic construction skills in a hands-on environment, emphasizing safety and tool use.
- Supervise youth at active job sites and ensure compliance with OSHA and CPSEMO safety protocols.
- Assist with project planning and implementation in collaboration with the Construction Trainer.
- Maintain job site cleanliness, inventory tools and materials, and support credentialing efforts (e.g., NCCER).
Job Development Duties:
- Build relationships with local employers, unions, and apprenticeship programs to identify job opportunities.
- Conduct career readiness workshops (resume building, mock interviews, job search).
- Support youth in overcoming barriers to employment such as transportation, interview attire, and documentation.
- Track and report employment outcomes and progress toward post-program success.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in construction, job development, workforce development, or youth programming.
- Strong communication and mentoring skills.
- Experience working with opportunity youth or vulnerable populations is a plus.
- Valid drivers license and ability to travel locally.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor settings.
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary: $38,000 $42,000 annually (based on experience)
- Benefits available after a 90-day probationary period, including paid time off and health-related benefits.
