Location: West Allis, WI (8901 W. Lincoln Ave, West Allis, WI 53227)

- Level IV Trauma Center
- Level III NICU
- Primary Stroke Center
- 277 Hospital Beds
Duration- 3+Months
🛏 Unit Overview
- Unit: Surgical Room – West Allis
- Beds: 12 (10 OR rooms running daily)
- Average Cases/Day: 25–30
- Traveler Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
- First-Time Travelers: Accepted
- Top Surgical Cases:
- Ortho (Total joints, ORIF)
- General surgery
- OBGYN (D&C, hysterectomy; no C-sections)
🩺 Patient Types / Case Mix
- General
- Urology
- Orthopedics (complex spine: multi-level, anterior/posterior)
- OBGYN
- Limited vascular (simple cases only)
- Robotics (preferred)
- No cardiac, no neurosurgery (brain), no transplant
- Anesthesia Tech supports pediatrics (no peds experience required)

📌 Required Certifications by Role
- Required: BLS
- Preferred: ACLS
- Skills: Strong circulate skills; able to circulate general, ortho, OBGYN; scrubbing preferred
Surgical Tech (CST)
- Required: BLS, accredited Surgical Tech program
- Preferred: CST certification
- Skills: Strong scrub skills – general, ortho, OBGYN
Anesthesia Tech
- Required: BLS, ACLS, WI license, Associate Degree in Anesthesia Technology
- Skills: Assist anesthesiologist with intubation, blocks, IVs, central lines, machine setup
Surgical Assistant
- Required: BLS
- Skills: Assist across multiple specialties, suturing ability

- Receptionist/HUC
- Charge Nurse (floating)
- Scheduler (M–F)

- In-house Anesthesia team
- Bedside telemetry (anesthesia monitors)

🔄 Floating Expectations
Travelers may float only as taskers, runners, helping hands, or sitter roles.
- No patient assignments
- No medication administration outside scope
- Equivalent to CNA-type support
🧭 Orientation
2-Day Orientation
- Day 1: Meet educator, modules, tour, system access, preceptor time
- Day 2: Full 8-hour shift with preceptor
📅 Scheduling Details
On-Call Requirements
Weekday Call (Mon–Fri):
- 1 day per week
- 4-hour shift: 1500–1900
- 12-hour shift: 1900–0700
Weekend Call (Sat–Mon):
- Every 5–6 weeks
- Saturday 0700 → Monday 0700
Response Time:
- 30 minutes on-site
- No sleep room provided
Holiday Requirements:
- 1 on-call holiday
RTO Policy:
- Up to 7 days approved; additional requests emailed to Nurse Manager (Shannon Z.)
Shift Structure:
- Monday–Friday
- On-call shifts included
- 6-week schedule (released 1–2 weeks prior)
- No self-scheduling
